JUNIOR REP TRIALS INFORMATION

JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE SELECTION TRIALS 2023/24

Griffith Touch Association will be conducting selection trials for the 2023/24 Junior Representative season.  Teams will attend the  Junior State Cup to be held in Wagga from Friday 16th February – Sunday 18th February 2024, as well as a number of gala days.

KEY DATES:

Canberra Gala Day:  Sunday 10th December 2023  – TBC 

West South West Suns Junior Championships:  Sunday 21st January 2024 

Junior State Cup:  Friday 16th – Sunday 18th February 2024

TRIAL DATES & TIMES 

Trial 1:   Saturday 14th October. 

10 Girls: 8.30am

10 Boys:  9.30am

12 Girls:  11.00am

12 Boys:  1.00pm

14 Girls:   10.00am

14 Boys: 10.00am

16/18 Boys: 9.00am

16/18 Girls: 11am

Trials 2 & 3:  Date & Times TBA

BOYS & GIRLS AGE GROUPS:

Under 10 – born 2014 or 2015

Under 12 – born 2012 or 2013

Under 14 – born 2010 or 2011

Under 16 – born 2008 or 2009

Under 18 – born 2006 or 2007

To be considered for selection in a junior representative team all players must be registered in a team in the Griffith Touch Association Competition (Open Men/Women, Mixed or Juniors).

PLAYER EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

GTA has an online expression of interest form for all players to complete who are interested in trialling  for representative teams.  This form will assist GTA by collecting information about players prior to the selection trial.

FURTHER INFORMATION

If selected in a GTA representative team, players are required to make a commitment to training as arranged by the team coach until the Junior State Cup  in February.

JUNIOR STATE CUP ACCOMMODATION:  Accommodation has been booked in Wagga for players and one parent. If you wish, you can choose to seek your own accommodation at another venue at your personal expense.  Accommodation for other tournaments is the responsibility of the parent.

JUNIOR STATE CUP TOURNAMENT COSTS

Costs  for the JSC cannot be calculated until we know how many exactly how many teams are going.

Some of the costs include:

GTA levy

NSWTA Tournament fees

Compulsory uniform:   playing shorts/bike pants, socks (2 pairs).  Playing shirt is provided.

Junior State Cup accommodation – 3 nights (no part thereof), Parent accommodation is not subject to GTA subsidy.
